Librarian for Indian Nationals in Abu Dhabi
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Librarian to join our team in Abu Dhabi. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library resources, providing research assistance to patrons, and promoting a love of reading and learning among our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection of books, periodicals, and multimedia materials
- Develop and maintain cataloging systems for easy access to library resources
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and locating materials
- Plan and promote events such as book clubs, author talks, and reading programs
- Train library staff on proper handling and maintenance of materials
- Oversee the budget for purchasing new materials
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum
- Maintain a clean and organized library space
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Proven experience working as a Librarian in a school or public library setting
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and electronic databases
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi is a plus)
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
