Librarian Assistant



The Malindi Public Library is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Librarian Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for Pakistani nationals with a passion for literature and a strong command of the English language. As a Librarian Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the head librarian with day-to-day tasks and providing support to library patrons.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and maintaining library materials, including shelving books, cataloging new items, and processing returns
- Provide customer service to library users by answering questions, helping them find materials, and providing recommendations
- Monitor the library's inventory and place orders for new materials when needed
- Help plan and implement programs and events for library patrons, such as book clubs or author readings
- Assist with digital resources, including troubleshooting technical issues and providing training to users
- Maintain the appearance of the library by keeping shelves tidy, arranging displays, and ensuring a clean environment

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
- Previous experience working in a library or similar environment is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with diverse populations
- Comfortable using technology, including computers, e-readers, and online databases

This is a full-time position with a competitive monthly salary of $1400. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates but give preference to Pakistani nationals. This position is also suitable for students looking for part-time employment.
