Executive Pastry Chef
We are currently seeking an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our team in Malindi. As the Executive Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department, including creating menus, managing inventory and supplies, and training and supervising a team of pastry chefs.
Responsibilities:
- Create innovative and high-quality pastry menus that align with our brand and restaurant concept
- Manage inventory and supplies to ensure all necessary ingredients are stocked at all times
- Train and supervise a team of pastry chefs to ensure consistent quality and adherence to recipes
- Oversee the production of all pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring they are prepared according to high standards
- Monitor food costs and make adjustments as needed to maintain profitability
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times, following health and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with other departments such as the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Pastry Chef or similar role for at least 5 years
- Excellent knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, equipment, and sanitation standards
- Creative mindset with a passion for developing new recipes and menu items
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
Salary: $1500 per month (negotiable depending on experience)
