Indian Pastry Chef in Bungoma, Kenya
We are hiring a highly skilled and experienced Indian Pastry Chef to join our team in Bungoma, Kenya. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries, cakes, and desserts. Your main duties will include preparing ingredients, baking and decorating pastries, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for pastries according to recipes and measurements.
- Bake pastries and desserts using various techniques.
- Decorate pastries with artistic designs using icing, toppings, and other decorations.
- Ensure all food safety standards are followed during the preparation process.
- Maintain inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies.
- Train new pastry staff on proper techniques and recipes.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new pastry items for the menu.
- Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
- Monitor food costs to ensure profitability.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role.
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques and pastry decoration methods.
- Creativity in designing unique pastries and desserts.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Attention to detail to maintain high-quality standards.
- Fluent in English with good communication skills.
- Preferably Indian nationality with valid work permit in Kenya.
