Shaper - Furniture Maker
Location: Nakuru, Kenya


We are seeking a skilled Shaper to join our furniture making team in Nakuru, Kenya. As a Shaper, you will be responsible for shaping and smoothing wood pieces to create high-quality furniture pieces. The ideal candidate will have experience in furniture making and knowledge of different types of wood and their properties. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1200$. Accommodation and visa sponsorship will be provided for non-local candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
- Use various tools such as saws, planers, and sanders to shape and smooth wood pieces
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine the specific dimensions needed for each piece
- Select the appropriate type of wood based on the project requirements
- Measure and mark wood pieces accurately to ensure precise cuts
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum of 2 years experience in furniture making or similar role
- Knowledge of different types of wood and their properties
- Ability to read blueprints and use woodworking tools
- Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects

Preferred Requirements:
- Experience working with both hand tools and power tools
- Certification or training in woodworking or carpentry
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
