Blast Furnace Operator


We are looking for a skilled Blast Furnace Operator to join our team at our steel plant in Nakuru. As a Blast Furnace Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the blast furnace, ensuring its efficient and safe operation. Your duties will include monitoring and adjusting temperatures and pressures, loading materials into the furnace, and performing regular maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with blast furnaces and possess strong technical skills. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $1400 per month

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with blast furnaces
- Strong technical skills and ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends

Responsibilities:
- Operate the blast furnace according to established procedures
- Monitor temperatures, pressures, and other parameters to ensure optimal operation
- Load materials into the furnace using cranes or other equipment
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and perform maintenance tasks as needed
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the operation
- Maintain accurate records of production data
- Follow all safety protocols at all times
