As a Surveying Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the surveying team in conducting land surveys and creating detailed maps and plans. You will work closely with the surveyor to collect data using specialized equipment and software, including GPS and electronic distance-measuring devices. You will also assist in analyzing data and preparing reports for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting land surveys using various surveying techniques such as leveling, traversing, and triangulation.
- Use specialized equipment to measure distances, angles, elevations, and contours.
- Input collected data into computer software to create detailed maps and plans.
- Conduct research and gather information on property boundaries, easements, and other relevant data.
- Assist in analyzing data and preparing reports for clients.
- Maintain surveying equipment and ensure proper calibration.
- Work closely with the surveyor to ensure accuracy of data collection.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in surveying or related field.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as GPS receivers, total stations, and electronic distance-measuring devices.
- Familiarity with industry software such as AutoCAD or GIS.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Salary: $1100 per month
Location: Washington D.C., USA
