Head Chef - Filipino Cuisine (Eldoret)
We are in search of a skilled and experienced Head Chef with expertise in Filipino cuisine to join our team in Eldoret. As our Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen operations, creating and designing menus, managing inventory and budgets, and ensuring high-quality food is consistently produced.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and create menus that showcase authentic Filipino dishes while also catering to local preferences and trends
- Manage daily kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and hygiene
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely ordering of ingredients to maintain optimal stock levels
- Control food costs by minimizing waste and developing cost-effective recipes
- Collaborate with management to develop promotional events or special menus to attract customers
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
- Stay updated with industry trends, new techniques, and ingredients related to Filipino cuisine
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chef specializing in Filipino cuisine
- Proven track record of creating successful menus that showcase traditional Filipino dishes while also adapting to local tastes
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations including food preparation techniques, plating skills, portion control, inventory management, budgeting, etc.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Salary: 1800$ per month
