Executive Chef
We are currently hiring an experienced Executive Chef to join our team in Bungoma, Kenya. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences. This is a contract job with a salary of 1700$ per month, and accommodation will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create menus that are innovative, creative, and in line with current industry trends
- Oversee all food preparation and cooking activities to ensure high quality and presentation standards are met
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling shifts, delegating tasks, and conducting performance evaluations
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events or promotions that involve food service
- Continuously seek ways to improve menu offerings, reduce costs, and increase efficiency in the kitchen
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a reputable institution preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine is highly desirable
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
