Executive Chef - Bungoma, Kenya
We are seeking a talented Executive Chef to join our team in Bungoma, Kenya. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our restaurant and ensuring high-quality, delicious meals for our guests. This is a full-time job with a salary of 1400$ per month and visa sponsorship is provided for non-Kenyan applicants.
Responsibilities:
- Create and design menus that meet the needs and preferences of our guests
- Supervise and train kitchen staff on proper food handling, preparation techniques, and kitchen safety protocols
- Oversee food ordering and inventory management to ensure all necessary ingredients are available for daily operations
- Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain high standards and consistency
- Collaborate with restaurant manager to develop promotional events or special menus to attract customers
- Manage budgeting, cost control, and pricing strategies for menu items
- Ensure compliance with health codes and regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Experience in menu planning, budgeting, cost control, and inventory management
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment
- Excellent communication skills in English (Malayalee or Canadian background preferred)
- Culinary degree or equivalent work experience required
