Library Coordinator


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Library Coordinator to join our team in Akron. As a Library Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the library and ensuring that all resources are easily accessible to patrons. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:
- Manage library circulation system, including checking books in and out, processing holds and renewals, and resolving any issues with patron accounts
- Oversee collection development by selecting new materials for purchase and maintaining accurate records of acquisitions
- Conduct reference interviews with patrons to determine their information needs and assist them in finding appropriate resources
- Plan and implement library programs and events for all age groups, including storytimes, book clubs, and workshops
- Train new staff members on library procedures and provide ongoing support to ensure efficient operations
- Assist with cataloging and classifying materials according to established standards
- Maintain a clean and organized library space by shelving books, weeding collections, and managing inventory levels

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact with patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with library software systems
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills

Salary: $1400 per month
