Senior Accountant


We are a reputable accounting firm based in Nakuru and we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role. A biometric passport is required for this role as there may be occasional travel to client sites. This is a full-time position with a salary starting at $900 per month. Kenyan nationals are preferred for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial operations of multiple clients, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other financial records
- Conduct regular audits to identify any discrepancies or errors in financial reports
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Prepare tax returns and other compliance documents as needed
- Provide guidance and support to junior accountants on the team

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification is highly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably as a Senior Accountant or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify trends or anomalies in financial data
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Biometric passport for occasional travel
