Executive Chef - Indian Cuisine (Eldoret)

The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing the creation and execution of traditional Indian cuisine at our restaurant in Eldoret. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Indian food and culture, along with extensive experience in preparing authentic dishes. They will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, creating menus, ordering ingredients, and ensuring food quality and safety. This role requires strong leadership skills, creativity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and cooking of traditional Indian dishes
- Develop and update menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback
- Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production
- Order ingredients and maintain inventory levels to avoid shortages
- Ensure all food safety standards are met by following proper sanitation procedures
- Monitor food costs and find ways to reduce expenses without compromising quality
- Collaborate with management on marketing strategies to promote Indian cuisine at the restaurant

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, including regional variations and traditional cooking techniques
- Ability to create new and unique dishes while also maintaining classic recipes
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team towards excellence
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and experience implementing them in a kitchen setting
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail when it comes to plating and presentation

Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience working as a chef, with at least 2 years in an executive position
- Fluent in English, knowledge of local languages is a plus
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends
Salary: 1100$ per month

Location: Eldoret, Kenya (Preference for Indian nationals)
