Head Chef - Mombasa, Kenya


As the Head Chef at our restaurant in Mombasa, Kenya, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation. You will lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure the highest quality dishes are served to our customers. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a chef in a high-end restaurant setting and be able to create innovative and delicious menu items. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $1200 per month.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute menus, including daily specials and seasonal offerings
- Supervise food preparation and cooking, ensuring quality standards are met
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain kitchen equipment
- Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety regulations
- Collaborate with management to develop cost-effective menu options
- Maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment
- Ensure timely service of dishes to customers
- Handle customer complaints or special requests related to food

Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as a chef in a high-end restaurant
- Proven ability to create creative and delicious dishes
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed

Preferred:
- Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution
- Previous experience working in Kenya or knowledge of Kenyan cuisine
