Librarian (Mombasa, Kenya)


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Librarian to join our team in Mombasa, Kenya. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and knowledge, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. The Librarian will be responsible for managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference requests, and coordinating library programs and events. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field, as well as previous experience working in a library setting. Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
- Assist patrons with research and reference requests
- Organize and maintain the library's cataloging system
- Plan and coordinate library programs and events
- Develop relationships with community organizations to promote library services
- Train and supervise support staff in daily operations of the library

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and online databases
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary: $1200 per month (negotiable based on experience)
