Librarian



We are seeking an experienced Librarian to join our team at our library in Mombasa, Kenya. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection and providing reference services to patrons. This is a contract position with a salary of 1700$ per month, suitable for both men and women.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the library's collection, including cataloging and classifying materials
- Assist patrons with locating and accessing resources, including digital materials
- Develop and implement library programs and events to engage the community
- Provide reference services to assist patrons with research inquiries
- Oversee the library's budget and make purchasing decisions for new materials
- Train and supervise library staff and volunteers
- Ensure the library is organized, clean, and welcoming for all patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Librarian in a public or academic setting
- Strong knowledge of library systems, digital resources, and cataloging standards
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience managing budgets is preferred but not required
