Executive Chef - Fine Dining
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at a high-end fine dining restaurant in Washington, D.C. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire culinary operation, from menu creation and kitchen management to maintaining food quality and consistency. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for creating exceptional dishes, strong leadership skills, and a creative flair.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create seasonal menus that showcase local ingredients and adhere to the restaurant's concept
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients while maintaining budget goals
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, menu items, and safety procedures
- Ensure food quality and presentation is consistently maintained
- Collaborate with management on special events or promotions
- Maintain sanitation standards in accordance with health code regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in a fine dining establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Passion for creating innovative dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Understanding of food cost control measures and inventory management
- Excellent communication skills in English
Salary: $1300/month
