Librarian - Lahore, Pakistan



We are in search of a skilled and passionate Librarian to join our team in Lahore, Pakistan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in library science and a deep understanding of library operations and procedures. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing reference services to patrons, and organizing events and programs. You must also possess excellent communication and customer service skills to assist patrons with their information needs. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1600$ per month and visa sponsorship available for non-Pakistani candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by cataloging, classifying, and shelving materials
- Assist patrons with finding resources and conducting research
- Plan and organize events and programs such as book clubs, storytime sessions, and workshops
- Develop online resources and digital collections to enhance accessibility for patrons
- Maintain the library's budget by tracking expenses and ordering new materials as needed
- Train other staff members on library procedures and assist with their professional development
- Collaborate with schools, universities, and community organizations to promote library services

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Experience with electronic databases and online resources
- Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
