Librarian - Reference and Information Services


As a Librarian for Reference and Information Services in Khanpur, you will be responsible for providing patrons with access to a variety of information resources, both physical and digital. You will assist users in locating and utilizing materials, providing reference services, managing the library's collection, and collaborating with other staff to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a library setting
- Strong knowledge of reference sources, including databases and online resources
- Familiarity with library management systems and cataloging standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
- Proficient in English (knowledge of other languages is a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Responsibilities:

- Provide reference services to patrons, including answering questions, assisting with research projects, and recommending resources
- Manage the library's collection by selecting, acquiring, organizing, and maintaining materials
- Collaborate with other staff to plan and implement programs and events that promote literacy and community engagement
- Maintain accurate records of circulation stats, patron interactions, and program attendance
- Conduct regular assessments of the collection to ensure relevance and meet the needs of the community
- Stay current on emerging technologies related to information services in order to enhance user experience
- Assist with training new staff members or volunteers as needed

Salary: $900 per month (negotiable based on experience)

This is a full-time position without accommodation provided. Visa sponsorship is available for non-native candidates.
