Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. Your work will play a crucial role in maintaining the cultural heritage of the city and ensuring its historical significance for future generations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough research and analysis of historical structures to determine their original design, materials used, and current condition
- Developing preservation plans and strategies to restore and maintain the integrity of historical buildings
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to implement preservation projects
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities for restoration work
- Supervising construction work to ensure adherence to preservation standards and guidelines
- Conducting regular inspections to identify any potential threats or damages to historical structures
- Implementing preventive measures to protect historical buildings from natural disasters or human activities
- Maintaining accurate records of all preservation projects and documentation of changes made during restoration work
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a focus on Historic Preservation
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Preservation Architect
- Extensive knowledge of historical architecture styles, building materials, and conservation techniques
- Familiarity with local preservation laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design software
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
Salary:
This position offers a salary of $1500 per month. Additional benefits such as health insurance and visa sponsorship may be provided.
