Database Administrator

Our company in Funchal is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing our company's databases, ensuring their security and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in database administration and be able to work full time with accommodation provided.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure database software
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Ensure data security and backup procedures are in place
- Optimize database for maximum speed and scalability
- Collaborate with developers to design efficient database structures for new applications
- Plan and implement upgrades and updates to existing databases
- Create user accounts, permissions, and maintain data integrity
- Train users on how to use the database system effectively

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS)
- Familiarity with programming languages such as SQL, Java, or C++
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues quickly
- Strong understanding of data security principles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Salary: $1200 per month

Location: Funchal, Portugal (accommodation provided)
