Junior Accountant


We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team in Funchal. This full-time position requires a candidate with at least 1-2 years of experience in accounting. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
- Assist with month-end close procedures
- Communicate with clients and vendors regarding billing and payments
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Experience working with multiple clients/accounts
- Familiarity with tax preparation software (TurboTax, H&R Block, etc.)

Salary: $1500/month
Location: Funchal, Portugal
