Pastry Chef for Luxury Hotel in Funchal, Portugal
As a Pastry Chef for our luxury hotel in Funchal, Portugal, you will be responsible for creating and executing a variety of delicious pastries and desserts. Your creativity and passion for baking will be showcased through the desserts you create, which will be served in our hotel restaurant and at special events.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and present a wide variety of pastries and desserts according to established recipes and standards
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to ensure freshness and availability
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff to maintain quality standards
- Collaborate with the executive chef to develop new menu items that meet the needs of our guests
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Stay updated on current industry trends and techniques to continuously improve our pastry offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a pastry chef or baker in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Fluent in English (Portuguese language skills preferred)
- Must have valid work permit/visa for Portugal
Salary:
This position offers a competitive salary of 1600$ per month.
