Pastry Chef - Funchal, Portugal
We are searching for a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury hotel in the beautiful city of Funchal, Portugal. As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delectable desserts and pastries that will delight our guests and enhance their overall dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design new pastry dishes and desserts to add to our menu
- Prepare and present all pastry items with attention to detail and quality
- Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring proper stock levels are maintained
- Train junior pastry chefs on proper techniques and recipes
- Oversee the production of all baked goods for in-house events, banquets, and special occasions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen
- Ensure compliance with all safety and hygiene regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized institution is preferred
- Strong knowledge of different types of pastries, dessert techniques, decoration methods, and flavor combinations
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail
- Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
- Fluent in English (Portuguese language skills are a plus)
Salary:
The salary for this position is $1700 per month, with potential for growth based on performance.
