Preservation Architect



We are seeking a highly skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Braga. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving historical buildings and structures by developing restoration plans and managing preservation projects. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure the proper preservation of historical sites.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine necessary restoration and preservation work
- Develop detailed restoration plans, including cost estimates, timelines, and materials needed
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities
- Manage preservation projects from start to finish, ensuring quality work is completed on time and within budget
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure proper techniques are used for preservation work
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise
- Communicate with clients regularly to keep them updated on project progress and address any concerns
- Stay up-to-date on current preservation techniques and regulations
- Mentor junior preservation architects in best practices

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in historic preservation or restoration projects
- Strong knowledge of architectural history, building materials, construction techniques, and restoration methods
- Experience working with local authorities for permit approvals
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
