Carpenter - Braga, Portugal


A reputable construction company in Braga, Portugal is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1400$ per month and accommodation provided.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine materials needed and dimensions required for projects
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using ruler, pencil, chalk or marking gauge
- Cut and shape materials according to measurements using hand tools, power tools or machines
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, floorings, trimmings and hardware
- Repair or replace damaged framework or other wooden structures
- Inspect wooden structures to determine repairs needed
- Operate hand tools such as saws, chisels, planes, drills and sanders
- Maintain tools in good condition

Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Carpenter in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of materials used in carpentry such as wood types and grades
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Ability to accurately measure and cut materials according to specifications
- Skilled in using various hand tools and power tools safely
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination
- Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.

Working Conditions:
This is a physically demanding job that requires standing for extended periods of time. Working at heights may also be necessary. The Carpenter must be able to work indoors as well as outdoors in various weather conditions. PPE will be provided.
