Preservation Architect
Our architectural firm in Porto is currently seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for the preservation and restoration of historic buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the preservation of these important pieces of history.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough research to understand the history and significance of a building or structure
- Assessing the condition of a building and identifying areas in need of preservation or restoration
- Developing preservation plans and proposals for clients
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, and other professionals to implement preservation projects
- Ensuring that all preservation work meets local codes and regulations
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the preservation process
- Providing guidance on proper maintenance techniques to preserve historic buildings and structures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Preservation Architect
- Extensive knowledge of historic preservation techniques, materials, and technologies
- Strong research skills and attention to detail in assessing historic buildings
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients, contractors, and other professionals
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with local codes and regulations related to historic preservation
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Portuguese is preferred
