Head Chef
We are hiring a skilled Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in Porto, Portugal. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen operations. Your creativity and leadership will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative menus that cater to diverse customer preferences and dietary restrictions
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, prep chefs, and dishwashers
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene practices
- Collaborate with management to develop cost-effective strategies for menu planning and ingredient sourcing
- Regularly review recipes and make necessary adjustments to improve taste, presentation, or cost efficiency
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques or ingredients into menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a busy restaurant environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a diverse team
- Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for kitchen sanitation
- Creativity in developing unique menu items while also adhering to budget constraints
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills for effectively interacting with staff members and management
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Salary: $900 per month
