Junior Pastry Chef
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury hotel in Porto, Portugal. As a Junior Pastry Chef, you will assist the head pastry chef in creating delicious and visually appealing desserts and pastries for our guests. You will also be responsible for maintaining hygiene and safety standards in the pastry kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head pastry chef in creating and preparing desserts and pastries
- Follow recipes accurately and ensure consistent quality of products
- Decorate pastries and desserts using various techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain equipment
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Train new pastry team members on recipes, techniques, and procedures
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of different baking techniques and methods for cakes, pastries, chocolates, etc.
- Creativity and artistic skills to design visually appealing desserts
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Degree or certification from a culinary school is preferred
- Fluent in English (Portuguese language skills are a plus)
Salary:
This is a full-time position with a salary of 1100$ per month.
