Junior Database Administrator

The Junior Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for providing support to the senior DBA in managing and maintaining the company's databases. This role is based in Faro, Portugal and offers a salary of 1300$ per month. We welcome applications from individuals without experience and do not provide accommodation. Responsibilities:
- Assist in installing, configuring, and upgrading database software
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Create and implement backup and recovery plans
- Ensure data integrity and security through regular audits and updates
- Collaborate with developers to optimize database structures for performance
- Generate regular reports on database usage and performance
- Contribute to the development of database policies, procedures, and standards

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Knowledge of SQL, database design principles, and data management techniques
- Familiarity with database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve problems efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Preferred:
- Experience with database administration tasks such as backup/restore, data migration, performance tuning, etc.
- Understanding of disaster recovery principles and best practices
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Certification in relevant DBMS technology
