Librarian vacancy in Faro Portugal

Part-Time Librarian

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Part-Time Librarian to join our team at the Faro Public Library. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting library patrons with research, locating materials, and providing quality customer service. This position is part-time with a starting salary of $1800 per month and does not include accommodation.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons in locating materials and resources
- Provide reference services and research assistance
- Organize and maintain library collections
- Develop and implement library programs and events
- Process new materials for circulation
- Assist with interlibrary loans and digital resources
- Create displays to promote library resources
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with the public
- Knowledge of library systems and databases
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science or related field
- Experience with cataloging and classification systems
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Portuguese)
- Familiarity with biometric passport processes
