Head Chef - Portuguese Cuisine
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at our restaurant in Faro, Portugal. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and design menus featuring traditional Portuguese cuisine while also incorporating modern techniques and flavors
- Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Maintain inventory levels and monitor food costs to ensure profitability
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of all dishes to meet customer expectations
- Collaborate with management to create special menus for events or promotions
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high volume restaurant
- In-depth knowledge of Portuguese cuisine with the ability to add creative twists
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Portuguese
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Sous Chef or higher position
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Salary: 1200$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
City: Faro, Portugal (candidates from other cities/regions within Portugal will also be considered)
