Head Chef - Mediterranean Cuisine



Are you a highly skilled and creative chef with a passion for Mediterranean cuisine? Do you have experience leading a team and managing kitchen operations? We are currently seeking a Head Chef to join our team at our upscale restaurant in the beautiful city of Faro.

As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating and implementing menu concepts, developing recipes, and overseeing all aspects of the kitchen. You will be leading a team of talented chefs to deliver exceptional food quality and presentation that reflects our restaurant's high standards.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and design new menu items that showcase the flavors and ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine
- Create recipes with focus on fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, menu items, and safety procedures
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and cost control to ensure profitability
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met in the kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to provide an exceptional dining experience for guests

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a chef in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine with ability to create innovative dishes while maintaining authenticity
- Experience in menu development, recipe creation, cost control, and inventory management
- Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and guide a team towards success
- High attention to detail with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Food safety certification is preferred
