Pastry Chef
A luxury hotel in Faro is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing delicious desserts and baked goods for our guests. We are looking for a creative and passionate individual who has a strong attention to detail and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a pastry chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel and possess excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, bake, decorate, and present various pastries, cakes, and other desserts according to established recipes
- Monitor inventory and order necessary ingredients to ensure freshness and availability
- Maintain clean and organized work stations at all times
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new menu items that adhere to dietary restrictions or special requests from guests
- Ensure all food safety regulations are followed during preparation and service
- Train and supervise junior pastry cooks in proper techniques and procedures
- Continuously strive for excellence in taste, presentation, quality, and consistency of all desserts
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef with at least 3 years of experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Excellent knowledge of different baking techniques, ingredients, equipment, sanitation standards, and safety regulations
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff members
- Creative thinking skills to develop new dessert ideas that align with the hotel's brand image
- Degree or certification in culinary arts preferred but not required
Salary: $1000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Faro, Portugal (non-native speakers welcome)
