Caregiver for Elderly in Faro

We are seeking a compassionate Caregiver to provide care and assistance to elderly individuals in the city of Faro. As a caregiver, you will be responsible for helping with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, as well as providing companionship and emotional support. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1400$ per month.

We are looking for someone who is patient, kind, and understanding, with a genuine desire to help others. Previous experience as a caregiver is not required, but the ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of caregiving techniques and be willing to learn. Fluency in Portuguese is preferred but not required.

As this position does not include accommodation, the caregiver should have their own place of residence in or near Faro. You will be expected to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of the elderly individual you are caring for.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care such as bathing, toileting, and grooming
- Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor changes in health or behavior and report any concerns to family or medical staff
- Engage in activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the client
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals
- Keep records of daily activities and progress

Requirements:
- Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations
- Physical stamina for lifting/transferring clients and performing household tasks
- Basic understanding of caregiving techniques or willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills in Portuguese (preferred) or English
- Reliable transportation to travel within Faro for client appointments or errands
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Valid CPR and first aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
