Part-Time Database Administrator in Almada


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Part-Time Database Administrator to join our team in Almada. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring their security, accessibility, and integrity. You will also work closely with our software development team to design and implement efficient database structures.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Ensure data security and backup procedures are in place and regularly tested
- Collaborate with software developers to design and implement database structures
- Optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing data, and implementing necessary updates
- Maintain data integrity through regular audits and data cleansing processes
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in database management

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle) and SQL language
- Experience with database design, optimization, backup & recovery techniques
- Knowledge of data security principles and best practices
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g. Java) is a plus
- Excellent analytical thinking skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills in English (Portuguese is a plus)

Salary: $1400 per month (based on experience)
