Junior Typesetter


A renowned publishing company located in Almada is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Typesetter to join our team on a contract basis. This is an entry-level position, suitable for candidates without prior experience, but with a passion for typography and design.

As a Junior Typesetter, you will be responsible for formatting and designing text-based materials such as books, magazines, and other printed materials. Your main task will be to ensure that the text is visually appealing and easily readable for the target audience. This requires strong attention to detail as well as a good understanding of typography principles.

Key Responsibilities:
- Format and typeset text-based materials using various software programs
- Ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting
- Collaborate with editors and designers to create visually appealing layouts
- Proofread final designs before printing to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain consistency in design elements throughout all materials

Requirements:
- Biometric passport or the ability to obtain one (if not already a Portuguese citizen)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong understanding of typography principles
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team

Salary:
This is an entry-level position with a salary of 1300$ per month.
