Contract Accountant - Almada, Portugal

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records and transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, strong attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including journal entries, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial statements
- Monitor cash flow and manage budget forecasts
- Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws
- Assist with month-end close procedures
- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies or errors
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to management as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Prior experience with accounting software preferred

Salary: $1100 per month

Location: Almada, Portugal (local candidates preferred)
