Junior Librarian

Our library in Almada is seeking a Junior Librarian to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about books and eager to gain experience in the field of library science. As a Junior Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the library, including cataloging, shelving, and assisting patrons with finding materials.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with cataloging new books and materials
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of shelves
- Assist patrons with locating materials and answering reference questions
- Process incoming and outgoing loans of materials
- Participate in collection development activities
- Provide basic computer assistance to patrons
- Help plan and implement library events and programs

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Fluent in Portuguese (both spoken and written)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with library systems and technology is a plus

Compensation:
This position offers a competitive salary of $1400 per month. Accommodation can also be provided for the right candidate.
