Preservation Architect

Our architectural firm in Atlanta is seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team on a contract basis. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. Your role will involve conducting thorough evaluations of historic structures, developing preservation plans, and overseeing restoration projects.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of historic buildings to assess their condition and identify any preservation needs
- Develop preservation plans for historic structures, considering factors such as structural integrity, historical significance, and budget constraints
- Research and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to historic preservation
- Oversee restoration projects to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the preservation plan
- Collaborate with other architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders involved in the restoration process
- Maintain accurate documentation of all preservation efforts for recordkeeping purposes

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Preservation Architect or similar role
- Extensive knowledge of historic preservation techniques and principles
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to historic structures
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other architectural design software
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others involved in the restoration process

Working Conditions:
This is a contract position that may require occasional travel to different project sites within Atlanta. The working hours are flexible but may include some evenings or weekends depending on project deadlines.

Salary:
We are offering a competitive salary of $1400 per week for this position.
