Pastry Chef - Indian/Kenyan Cuisine
As a Pastry Chef specializing in Indian and Kenyan cuisine, you will be responsible for creating and executing unique and flavorful desserts and pastries that reflect the diverse cultures of these countries. Your creativity and expertise will be utilized to develop new recipes, as well as maintain and improve existing ones. You will also be responsible for managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work alongside other talented chefs in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment. This role requires a passion for creating delicious desserts, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create new dessert and pastry recipes that incorporate traditional Indian and Kenyan flavors
- Prepare and present desserts for menu items
- Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed
- Collaborate with other chefs to maintain high quality standards
- Train junior pastry chefs on proper techniques and recipes
- Maintain a clean and organized work station
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef working with Indian or Kenyan cuisine
- Knowledge of traditional Indian/Kenyan ingredients, cooking techniques, and flavors
- Passion for creating unique desserts that reflect cultural influences
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Salary: $1700/month (negotiable depending on experience)
