Pastry Chef
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for the creation, preparation, and presentation of all pastries, desserts, and breads for our restaurant in Dickirch. The ideal candidate must have a passion for pastry-making and be able to create unique and delicious desserts that will leave a lasting impression on our guests. They must also have strong leadership skills to manage the pastry team and ensure high-quality standards are maintained at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and innovative pastry recipes that align with our restaurant's theme and appeal to our customers' tastes
- Prepare and bake pastries, desserts, and breads according to established recipes and quality standards
- Decorate pastries using different techniques such as icing, glazing, and piping
- Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring they are well-stocked at all times
- Train and supervise pastry team members to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all pastries
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and maintain a clean working environment
- Collaborate with other chefs to create dessert menus that complement the main dishes
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate them into menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- Excellent knowledge of pastry-making techniques, ingredients, equipment, and presentation methods
- Creative flair for developing unique dessert recipes that stand out from competitors
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Basic understanding of food cost control measures to ensure profitability
- Excellent communication skills in English (fluency in French is a plus)
- Formal culinary training or degree in Baking & Pastry Arts is preferred
Salary: $1400 per month (negotiable based on experience)
