Indian Chef


We are searching for a skilled and creative Indian Chef to join our team in Nairobi. As an Indian Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing authentic Indian dishes, overseeing kitchen operations, and maintaining food quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Indian cuisine, excellent cooking skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and create menus featuring authentic Indian dishes
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes from scratch using traditional techniques
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and recipes
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards at all times
- Collaborate with other team members to develop new menu items or special dishes
- Ensure timely preparation of all orders according to customer preferences
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute towards a harmonious work environment

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef or similar role
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques is essential
- Ability to create innovative dishes while maintaining traditional flavors
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, tools, and appliances
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and manage kitchen staff
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Certification from a culinary school or training program is preferred

Working Conditions:
This position is full-time with flexible working hours. The candidate should be willing to work weekends, evenings, or holidays if required. The work environment can be hot, noisy, fast-paced, and physically demanding.

Salary:
We are offering a competitive salary of $1400 per month for this position.
