Head Pastry Chef
As a Head Pastry Chef in our high-end bakery in Muharraq, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department. You must have a passion for creating delectable desserts and a keen eye for detail to ensure the quality and presentation of our pastries meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new pastry recipes that align with our bakery's brand and customer preferences
- Manage and train a team of pastry chefs, ensuring they are skilled in techniques and knowledgeable about ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to maintain freshness and avoid waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations
- Collaborate with the head chef to create menus that incorporate seasonal, local ingredients
- Ensure all pastries are prepared and presented according to established recipes and standards
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into our pastry offerings
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end bakery or restaurant
- Proven track record of creating unique, visually appealing pastries with exceptional taste
- Knowledge of various baking techniques, including cake decorating, chocolate work, and bread making
- Ability to lead a team and delegate tasks effectively while maintaining a positive work culture
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely production of pastries for both daily orders and events/catering orders
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other departments within the bakery
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution
- Previous experience as a head pastry chef or sous chef in a high-volume bakery or restaurant environment
Salary: $1000/month (negotiable based on qualifications)
Location: Muharraq, Bahrain (open to all nationalities)
