Librarian


A reputable library in Herzliya is seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team. This is a contract position with a salary of $1000 per month, and includes accommodation. This job is suitable for men with a biometric passport.

As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials. You will also assist patrons in finding and accessing resources, as well as organizing and maintaining the library's catalog system.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the library's collection of books, journals, magazines, and other materials
- Assist patrons in locating information and resources
- Organize and maintain the library's catalog system
- Plan and implement programs to promote reading and literacy
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into curriculum
- Provide reference services to students and staff
- Manage circulation of materials, including checking items in/out and collecting fines
- Catalog new materials using appropriate systems
- Keep track of library budget and make recommendations for purchases
- Train library assistants on proper procedures

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Experience working as a librarian or in a similar role preferred but not required
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and database management
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficient in using technology for research purposes
- Fluent in English (Hebrew or other languages are a plus)
