Smelter Operator

We are hiring a skilled Smelter Operator to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Smelter Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring equipment used to process raw materials, such as metal ores, into molten metal. Your primary duties will include setting up and adjusting machinery, maintaining production levels, and ensuring the quality and purity of the molten metal. You must have previous experience in a smelting facility and possess knowledge of the smelting process. This is a full-time position that requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a high-temperature environment. This job is suitable for men who are detail-oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, and can work well under pressure. Accommodation will not be provided for this role.

Responsibilities:
- Set up and adjust smelting equipment according to production needs
- Monitor machinery to ensure proper functioning
- Conduct periodic checks on equipment to identify potential issues
- Maintain production levels by adjusting controls as needed
- Monitor temperature and chemical composition of molten metal
- Remove impurities from molten metal using various processes
- Work with team members to troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions or quality issues
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
- Keep accurate records of production levels, equipment maintenance, and quality control measures

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certification or degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a smelting facility or similar industrial setting required
- Knowledge of the smelting process and various techniques used to extract metals from ores
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a high-temperature environment for extended periods of time
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
