Job Title: Library Assistant


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Library Assistant to join our team at the Albena City Library. This full-time position is perfect for someone with a passion for books and helping others. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the librarian with various tasks including cataloging, shelving, and maintaining the library's collection. You will also assist library patrons with finding materials, checking out books, and answering reference questions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in cataloging new materials and maintaining the library's collection
- Shelve books and keep shelves organized and tidy
- Help patrons locate materials within the library
- Check out books to patrons using a computerized system
- Answer reference questions and provide assistance with research projects
- Process new library card applications and maintain accurate patron records
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events
- Keep up-to-date on popular books, authors, and trends in reading to make recommendations to patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, including experience with library software
- Ability to communicate effectively with patrons of all ages
- Knowledge of different genres of literature
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience working in a library setting is a plus

Salary:
