Librarian for Indian Community in Al Buraymi



We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our Indian community library in Al Buraymi. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our collection of books, magazines, and other resources, as well as providing assistance to patrons in locating information.

Key Responsibilities:
- Catalog and classify all library materials using standard systems
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all library resources
- Assist patrons in locating and retrieving materials
- Organize and maintain the library’s physical space to ensure easy access to resources
- Develop and implement programs and events to promote literacy, reading, and community engagement
- Keep up-to-date with new books, publications, technologies, and other resources related to the Indian community
- Collaborate with other librarians and organizations to expand the library’s collection and services
- Train and supervise volunteers or assistants in daily tasks

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field
- Proven experience working as a Librarian or in a similar role
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification
- Familiarity with information retrieval systems and database management
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to assist patrons from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
- Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

As this position is specifically for the Indian community in Al Buraymi, we prefer candidates who are fluent in Hindi or any other Indian languages. However, fluency in English is also required.

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1600$ per month. Accommodation will be provided by the community.
