Librarian (Al Buraymi, Oman)
We are in search of a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team at our library in Al Buraymi, Oman. As a librarian, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the library, assisting patrons with their research needs, and maintaining the library's collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library including opening and closing procedures
- Assist patrons in locating and accessing materials, both physical and digital
- Provide reference services and assist with research inquiries
- Maintain the organization and upkeep of the library's collection
- Develop and implement programs and activities to promote literacy and learning
- Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers
- Stay updated on current trends in the field of librarianship
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and information retrieval methods
- Proficiency in using technology for research purposes
We offer a competitive salary package of 1800$ per month. This is a full-time position with flexible working hours. Accommodation will not be provided, so this role is ideal for someone already living in Al Buraymi or willing to relocate at their own expense.
