Head Chef - Malayalee Cuisine
We are hiring a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our Malayalee cuisine restaurant located in the bustling city of Akron. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen operations and leading a team of chefs and kitchen staff. Your main aim will be to maintain the high quality of our authentic Malayalee dishes while constantly striving to improve and innovate our menu offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation according to recipes and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and delegating tasks
- Create new dishes and menus while maintaining the authenticity of Malayalee cuisine
- Monitor food stock levels, order supplies and maintain inventory records
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen area
- Manage food costing, budgeting and purchasing to maintain profitability
- Collaborate with management on marketing initiatives to promote the restaurant's unique offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a Malayalee cuisine restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Malayalee dishes, cooking techniques, and ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with ability to manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
- Food safety certification is preferred
Salary: $1000/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Akron (willingness to relocate preferred)
